EastEnders fans will get to know more about Ben Mitchell’s sad situation in upcoming scenes.
Earlier this year, Max Bowden left the role of Ben behind after four years on the BBC soap. His character
is currently in prison in the US for credit card fraud and isn’t faring too well.
Recently, Kathy Cotton, Ian Beale and Ben’s daughter Lexi visited him in America, with Kathy bringing heartbreaking news back to Walford.

In scenes airing next week, Kathy is back from the States and has a conversation with Phil Mitchell to inform him about Ben’s condition. She tells him that Ben is in a bad way and that Ian is prolonging his stay in the US to try and get him a better lawyer.
Worried about their son, Kathy pleads with Phil to put all his efforts into helping Ben’s appeal.
Meanwhile, the soap has aired a romantic twist for Ben’s husband Callum Highway. In March, Callum vowed to be loyal to Ben and wait for him as he serves his six-year sentence.

In a recent episode, Callum got close to Johnny Carter as he’s going through a hard time following his mum Linda’s relapse and hospitalisation.
A new subplot saw Johnny get the wrong end of the stick when he mistook Callum’s friendship for something more and leaned in for a kiss. The police officer gently pushed Johnny away and reminded him he’s still committed to his marriage to Ben.
