Kathy Beale has become suspicious of Bernie Taylor in new EastEnders scenes.
The past few weeks have seen Bernie sending Linda Carter anonymous threatening messages in hopes of
getting her to tell the truth about Keanu Taylor’s death.
Bernie has been working with the imprisoned Dean Wicks and assumes Sharon Watts must have murdered Keanu. But viewers know Linda accidentally killed Keanu while trying to stop him from attacking Sharon on Christmas Day.
Bernie has been desperate to keep her campaign of harassment under wraps, but a slip-up in Wednesday’s (August 28) episode put her entire plan in jeopardy.

She’s now branched out her threatening messages to target Sharon, hoping to scare her into confessing what happened on Christmas Day.
However, Bernie made a big mistake when she lost track of the burner phone she’d been using to harass Linda and Sharon.
She was frantic as Priya picked up the lost phone in the cafe, leading Bernie to swipe the phone away, telling her: “That’s mine!”
Bernie immediately realised she’d acted suspiciously, so had to come up with a reason why she had a second phone.
“It’s just a pay-as-you-go, you know, cheaper one,” Bernie mumbled.
Kathy approached Bernie after the cafe closed for the night to ask how she was feeling about Dean’s upcoming trial.
“I just want whoever did this to pay,” Bernie told her.

Kathy assured Bernie that Dean wouldn’t get away with what he’d done. Bernie then broke down, admitting she’d questioned whether Dean was the real culprit.
“What if someone else killed Keanu?” Bernie tearfully asked. “This Square is full of liars, a lot of people didn’t like him. What if it was somebody else?”
Kathy was chilled as Bernie reminded her that Sharon tried to kill Ian years ago, then suggested Sharon may have murdered Keanu as revenge for him kidnapping Albie.
“Sharon is a lot of things but she wouldn’t do that, not to Ian, not to anyone,” Kathy swore.
Bernie ran out of the cafe when Kathy encouraged her to “start thinking straight”. Realising that The Six now had a major problem on their hands, Kathy turned up at No 43 to warn Sharon.
Sharon admitted she’d thought the blackmailer might be Karen Taylor or Shirley Carter, but neither woman thought Bernie knew what really happened to Keanu.

“We need concrete evidence,” Kathy insisted.
With Dean’s trial looming next week, will Bernie discover the truth?
