A much-loved EastEnders couple is set to get divorced following a shocking confrontation in recent scenes.
Jack Branning and Denise Fox (Scott Maslen and Diane Parish) have faced plenty of challenges during their marriage, but Jack’s affair
with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) has proved to be the final nail in the coffin.
Their marriage has been rocked over the years by a number of betrayals and family issues, and things have been on rocky ground for a while.
When Denise found out that Jack and Stacey had slept together before Christmas, she was devastated but prepared to give Jack another chance, under the assumption that it was a one off.
However, Martin Fowler (James Bye) recently dropped the bombshell that they were still having an affair, leaving Denise heartbroken.
Denise has never been a character to back down, so it was hardly a surprise when she decided that she wanted to give things another go for the sake of the children.
Daughter Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) couldn’t understand Denise’s position, but she was adamant that she had made up her mind.
However, when she returned home, step-children Amy and Ricky Mitchell (Ellie Dadd and Frankie Day) were shocked to see her, and admitted that they didn’t think she should take Jack back.
They made it clear that she would still be their step-mum if she and Jack split up, with Amy pointing out that Denise wouldn’t want her to date someone who had cheated on her.
With this new perspective, Denise told Jack that she wanted a divorce, leaving him devastated.
She explained that she was tired of them constantly going round in circles, and it was time for them to call it quits.
She revealed that she and Raymond were going to move in with Chelsea, and that Amy and Ricky will be allowed to visit whenever they want.
Are Jack and Denise finally over for good?
