EastEnders has confirmed some proposal drama for Reiss and Sonia following last week’s killer twist.
The soap has aired horrific scenes where cash-strapped Reiss killed his comatose wife Debbie to stop care home bills from mounting beyond the £13.5K he already owes.
Reiss has tried to cover his tracks in subsequent episodes but will have difficult questions to answer next week when Debbie’s grieving parents arrive in Walford.
In these new episodes, Reiss learns from the police that Debbie’s post-mortem has been completed. He is allowed to pay his respects with a visit while waiting for the results.
Sonia is later rattled when she spots Reiss being accosted by Phil Mitchell in the Square, as Phil demands he pay up the money he owes.

Reiss is backed into a corner when Sonia asks what’s happened with Phil, forcing him to confess that he stole money from the notorious hardman.
Sonia is stunned by Reiss’ actions but still agrees to accompany him to pay his respects to Debbie. Once Reiss visits his late wife for the last time, he is surprised by Debbie’s parents Brenda and Hugh on the way out of the room.
Debbie’s parents have no idea Reissa has been dating Sonia while their daughter was comatose, so he pretends that Sonia is his landlady.
Sonia is forced into an awkward situation, as Brenda and Hugh accompany Reiss back to the Square for refreshments.
Sonia quickly gets fed up with the ruse, but Reiss talks her around by explaining why he’s never told his in-laws he’s dating again. The pair share a kiss, but Brenda catches them in the act.

Reiss is then forced to come clean to Brenda and Hugh about his relationship with Sonia. His in-laws get more unpleasant surprises when they overhear Sharon and Teddy talking about him.
As gossip spreads throughout Albert Square, Sonia tries to cheer up Reiss by reminding him they have a bright future with a baby on the way.
Sonia makes a throwaway comment about getting married, yet Reiss thinks she’s just proposed to him.
Now backed into a corner, Sonia opens up to her ex-husband Martin Fowler about her fears that it’s too soon for Reiss to get remarried.
These scenes air next week.
