EastEnders star Micah Balfour, who plays womaniser Junior Knight, has recently celebrated his birthday – and fans have been left stunned by his age!
The estranged son of landlord George (Colin Salmon) first arrived in May, as the two came head to head during an underground, illegal boxing match.
Following his dad back to Albert Square, Junior soon revealed that he had a wife and a son, making George regretful of the lost years. He also took opportunity to get to know youngster sisters Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford).
He then went onto have affairs with Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) and his former step-mum Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins). The former occasion forced his wife Monique (Busayo Ige) decide to return to Dubai with their son Xavier.
In the last week, after making up with her partner Ian (Adam Woodyatt), after fearing he was having an affair of his own with ex-wife Jane (Laurie Brett), Cindy once again jumped into bed with Junior.
Oh dear…
It’s become clear that he likes an older woman, but whilst the age-gap between the two on-screen is quite significant, off-screen it’s not so huge.
In the show, Junior was born around 1986 or 1987, making him around 38. But in real life, actor Micah is actually 46 – having been born in 1978.
‘Happy birthday to Micah Balfour (Junior Knight), who turns 46 today. Have a wonderful day!’ wrote EastEnders fan account WalfordEast on X last week. The post was immediately met with surprise from viewers who assumed he was significantly younger.
‘Blimey he looks at least ten years younger than that!’ one wrote.
Another added: ’46?? Doesn’t really seem to have aged since playing Ben in The Bill 15 years ago.’
Consider us surprised!
