EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (July 24), which is available to watch on streaming service BBC iPlayer now and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
EastEnders has aired a horrifying twist involving Reiss Colwell, in the show’s latest episode.
This week, Reiss has attempted to scam Sharon in a bid to clear his debts, telling her that she must pay over £13,000 in corporation tax – that would go straight into his pocket.
Phil was suspicious when he found out about the large bill and confronted Reiss about it, demanding that he show him the HMRC letter.

In the latest episode, Reiss was drafting a fake letter when he was disturbed by Sonia, and he lied and said they were now up to date with Debbie’s care home fees.
As Reiss expressed his guilt about them having a baby, Sharon arrived at the door and told him that Phil wanted to see the letter from the taxman.
Reiss told her that he had shredded the letter, and when Sharon planned to ring HMRC for another copy, he told another lie and said that he had found a loophole and she didn’t owe money anymore.

But Reiss hatched another plan and told Sharon about a new investment scheme that he promised would double her money.
Sharon agreed but asked him to bring the paperwork to Peggy’s so Reiss began typing a fake document, but his laptop began installing updates, leaving him panicked.
While Phil was sure that Reiss was a conman, Sharon decided to continue with the so-called investment scheme anyway.

Phil issued Reiss with a stern threat that he wanted the money doubled in a few weeks or he would kill him – leaving Reiss in an even more dangerous financial situation.
Meanwhile, after Sonia spoke to Martin about their money troubles, she visited Debbie and promised that they would always look after her and would pay her back the money.
After her visit, Sonia decided that she would sell the house to support Reiss, and while an estate agent made her briefly change her mind, she realised it was the best thing to do for her family.

But Reiss had secretly gone to visit Debbie himself, where he broke down about his crippling debt, and said that he would be able to start again if she passed away.
It was then that Reiss came to a realisation, and in a shocking twist, he took one of Debbie’s pillows and used it to smother her.
Has Debbie been killed, and what will this mean for Reiss?
