EastEnders fans have been left wondering where Kat Mitchell (Jessie Wallace) has disappeared to following her confrontation with Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry).
The legendary character was last seen on 1st March, telling Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) that she was regretful about her relationship with Nish, who was out to try and rinse her of any assets she gained in her divorce.
Kat had grown closer to the dastardly businessman after learning that husband Phil (Steve McFadden) had slept with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit).
Nish offered her free accommodation in one of his many properties and even welcomed her sons into his house in a bid to woo her.
After coming to the realisation that he was trying to con her, Kat called in his estranged wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal) to get revenge.
Suki decided to confront him, and when things turned violent, their family returned home and devised a plan to get rid of him.
Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota) decided to hand over his share in their businesses to his mum, including the tenancy of No. 41.
Throwing Nish out of the house and into the gutter of the Square, this episode also marked his final appearance (for now).
But with no explanation, Kat also vanished into thin air.
One Reddit user commented on the matter yesterday (19th March), asking: ‘Where’s Kat gone? She’s disappeared since the Nish incident.’
Another fan commented on X/Twitter earlier this month : ‘Is Kat in tonight’s EastEnders episode may I ask?’
‘Why is the EE youtube posting so much old Kat content? Something big looms I fear’ said one viewer, suspecting that a big storyline could be in the pipeline.
Since her last appearance, the soap focussed on the unfolding drama surrounding Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) in Milton Keynes, meaning a lot of story arcs were left in limbo.
It’s not uncommon for soap actors to take extended breaks following an intense filming schedule, usually at the culmination of a big plot line.
Wherever you are Kat, please come home.
