EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has confirmed that Reiss Colwell and Sonia Fowler will be arrested in upcoming scenes.

The BBC has released photos of the duo celebrating their engagement party at The Vic, when the police turn up and arrest them both.

Sonia obviously has no idea what’s going on, but Reiss does. He has been struggling financially and to try and worm himself out of the situation, he’s stolen money from Sharon Watts under the guise of an investment scheme, and smothered his wife Debbie to death to get out of paying her care home bills.

Will Sonia be able to prove her innocence, or will Reiss continue to lie and try to get himself out of it by blaming it on her? You’ll have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, Sonia actor Natalie Cassidy has been taking some time off from the soap in order to work on another new project, following the launch of her podcasts Life with Nat and Off the Telly.

This new project is a four-part series called What’s the Big Deal? for Channel 4, in which she will investigate the popularity of trending household items, presenting and interviewing people from various industries.

The actor said that she is “looking forward to getting to ask questions we all want answers to”, adding: “Like all of us, I love to try the latest things. But as a busy mum, what I really want to know is what lives up to the claims and what is the best deal.”
