EastEnders has revisited Lucy Beale’s death in heart-wrenching scenes for Bobby Beale.
This week’s episodes have seen Bobby’s girlfriend Anna Knight, his best mate Freddie Slater, and brother Peter Beale trying to come up with a way to celebrate
Bobby’s 21st birthday.
Bobby has been evasive about making plans, with viewers finally finding out why that’s the case in Thursday’s (July 11) double bill. Peter had a heart-to-heart chat with Bobby where his younger brother said it wasn’t right to celebrate in light of Lucy’s death.
Bobby killed his older sister Lucy when he was just a child, but has since made amends with his family and turned his life around following a stay in a young offenders facility.

“Lucy never did [turn 21], did she?” a tearful Bobby explained. “I took that from her.”
Bobby reminded Peter that “for the first time” in his life, he was going to be older than Lucy was when she died.
“How can I even think about celebrating that?” Bobby asked Peter.
Peter was speechless as Bobby made a hasty exit. In the Square, Peter explained to Ian that Bobby was reluctant to celebrate given Lucy’s death.
“It’s a big day for him. It’s a big day for all of us. We need to celebrate it as a family,” Ian insisted.

However, Ian was quickly distracted by another mysterious text message and then shot down an offer to throw Bobby a party the following day because he supposedly had a branding meeting with Cindy.
When Cindy admitted she’d heard nothing about a branding meeting, mother and son confronted Ian about why he’d lie about something so trivial.
Ian was backed into a corner, so he played it off like he was considering running for local council again. But is there a bigger secret to be revealed?
