This article contains spoilers for Wednesday’s (July 10) EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.
Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) was left stunned in recent EastEnders scenes when he found out that his mum had died shortly after abandoning him as a child.
In emotional scenes, Stevie Mitchell (Alan Ford) revealed that Billy’s mum had taken her own life after discovering that Stevie had been having an affair.
Billy was furious that he had been lied to for so long, but Stevie argued that he hadn’t known how to tell him when he was a child.
Billy was quick to argue that he wasn’t a child anymore, and Stevie could have revealed the truth when he first came back into his life several weeks ago.
Things only got more upsetting when Billy learnt that it was Teddy Mitchell’s (Roland Manookian) mum that Stevie had been having the affair with, and soon the stallholder had stormed off to confront his brother.
Before Teddy could explain anything, Billy punched him, leaving him completely taken aback.

Teddy went on to explain how he hadn’t known about Billy’s mum’s suicide, but admitted that he had lied about reconnecting with Stevie 20 years ago.
When Billy demanded to know why Stevie had chosen to bring up Teddy while he was in care, Stevie explained that he hadn’t been able to cope because Billy looked so much like his mum, and that by the time he tried to get him back Billy had been lost in the system.Billy was clearly shaken by the discovery, and after confronting Phil (Steve McFadden) about how he’d found out the truth, Billy attempted to call Honey (Emma Barton).
Unfortunately, she didn’t pick up, and he was forced to reveal all over voicemail.
Despite everything that had happened, Teddy was still keen to keep his brother in his life, and urged Billy not to let Stevie and Phil’s actions affect their relationship.
Will they be able to put the past behind them and bond?
