For months now, EastEnders teen Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) has been placing his health at risk by using steroids to accelerate his gym training, but now he could be about to find himself in
even more danger.
Having also got best friend Davinder ‘Nugget’ Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) into the performance enhancing drugs, Denzel faces the possibility of his pal’s violent father Ravi (Aaron Thiara)
discovering their secret when Nugget’s behaviour begins to raise suspicions.
In scenes to air on the BBC soap next week, Nugget is nervous ahead of a boxing tournament they are competing in, and asks Denzel if they need to up their dose of pills. Denzel scoffs at the suggestions as Nugget struggles with dizziness.
Later, during a heart-to-heart, Ravi tries to get Nugget to open up and counsels him not to take shortcuts when training.During the weigh-in for the tournament, Nugget is feeling unwell, and Zack Hudson (James Farrar) – who has a previous history of his own with steroids – starts to suspect the boys are using the drugs.
Refusing to let Nugget weigh in for the tournament, the lad lashes out at Denzel, as Zack rushes to find Ravi and warn him about his suspicions.
While Ravi refuses to believe him, it is only a matter of time before the truth comes spilling out. And with Ravi’s history of violence, will he take his anger out on Denzel for putting his son in danger?
