When Father’s Day arrives in EastEnders next week, Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) is prompted to drop some huge news on a relative.
Over Christmas, after Sharon Watts’s (Letitia Dean) boy Albie did a test at the hospital, it was confirmed Phil is actually his dad, not Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).
Due to the shock, the confusing feelings that would arrive for her son, and the fact Sharon’s been busy trying to cover up The Six’s involvement in Keanu’s murder, allowing Phil to spend time with
Albie hasn’t really been her priority.
In upcoming episodes of the BBC One soap, Phil feels lonely on Father’s Day without Ben (Max Bowden) and Louise (Tilly Keeper) around, and is further hurt when he watches Denise Fox (Diane Parish) take Raymond to Number 20 for christening prep.
After Callum Highway (Tony Clay) fails to invite him to a video call with Ben, Phil heads to see Sharon and asks for some time with Albie.
Initially reluctant, Sharon eventually lets Phil to play football with Albie in the Square.
Later in the day, Phil is allowed to join Ben and Callum’s call, but the moment is short lived and Sharon abruptly leaves when Callum starts asking questions about Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) and Keanu.
A suspicious Phil then heads to Number 43 to speak with Sharon and, after intercepting a text from Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) on her phone, demands to know the truth. In the week, Phil continues to press Sharon for information but she’s adamant there is nothing to tell. Realising his approach to the situation needs to change, Phil makes his way to the pub to speak with Linda, but Sharon stops him.
Perhaps to distract him from the secret, Sharon allows Phil to spend more time with Albie.
However, once alone, Phil confirms to Albie that he’s his father!
How will Sharon react once she finds out what he’s done?
