For a Mitchell, EastEnders teenager Will (Freddie Phillips) has so far kept his nose pretty clean – but that looks set to change next week.
Billy and Honey’s son is set to be caught stealing money by his grandad Stevie (Alan Ford) as a mysterious new storyline kicks off in Walford.
In scenes set to air on Monday (17 June), Stevie, Billy (Perry Fenwick) and Will set off in a fishing trip with Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) and his son Denzel
(Jaden Ladega), and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and his son Ricky (Frankie Day) to celebrate Father’s Day.Whilst there, Stevie confiscates Denzel, Will and Ricky’s phones to encourage them to reconnect with their dads, but Billy becomes concerned for his dad’s wellbeing when Stevie calls him by the wrong name.
Arriving back in Albert Square, a worried Billy is soon distracted by Will when he is forced to confiscate his phone again.
Stevie steps in to help diffuse the situation, but is later shocked when he catches his grandson about to steal money from Honey’s (Emma Barton) purse.
Will protests his innocence, but Stevie clocks a text on Will’s phone which tells a different story, forcing him to reveal all – the teenager is being blackmailed.
Stevie heads off to tell Billy what has happened, but bottles it at the last minute, asking Mo Harris (Laila Morse) for her help.
But just what is Will being blackmailed about? And does it have anything to do with Stevie’s secret other family, whose arrival in Walford was announced earlier this month?
Catch these scenes on Monday 17th June at 7.30pm on BBC One or from 6am on iPlayer, and Tuesday 18th June at 7.30pm on BBC Two or from 6am on iPlayer.
